As a hair stylist, specifically a wedding hair stylist, I’ve tested and used my fair share of hair tools. The good. The bad. And, the ugly. It is my duty as a stylist to share this information with you. I want you to look good, after all. These are available to everyone, whether you’re a pro or not. I mean, you’re only as good as your tools. Let’s “wave” off bad hair together. ππ

The Importance of High-Quality Hair Tools
Does anyone remember the Wet2Straight? It makes me shudder just thinking about it. Can you still hear the sizzle, too? Honestly, the fact that these are still available to buy is a crime. And, let’s be grateful that the 90s crimper is no longer in style. The on/off button just doesn’t cut it anymore. We need temperature controls. Thank goodness the hair world has evolved to serve a variety of hair textures and needs. Ceramic and tourmaline and titanium. Oh, my! They are all great choices, btw.
My Must-Have Hair Tools
The Dyson Airwrap

I am a sucker for any type of multi tool. The Airwrap is the only thing that my boujee dogs will let me use to blow dry them. π I even use it on my own hair sometimes. It’s so quiet and versatile; it’s also phenomenal for drying extensions
Triple ShineTM Professional Digital Flat Iron

I love that this flat iron from Bellami is available in different sizes from 1/2″ to 1 1/2″. It is great for hair that is course because it can heat upwards of 430o in under 60 seconds. Seriously, please don’t turn it up that high if your hair does not need it(it more than likely does not). Professional grade hair tools available to the unlicensed? Yes, please!
3-in-1 Universal Diffuser

This one is for the curly girls that love and embrace their curls. A diffuser from Ouidad is a necessity and this one comes with 3 customizable pieces for embracing different aspects of your curls. It is made of silicone and is designed to fit most blow dryers.
Long Barrel Curling Iron-1″ By Bio Ionic

As far as single function curling irons go, this one is worth its weight in gold. The 1″ barrel is great for nearly every hair length and the long barrel is a game changer. Finally, no more having to curl the top half and then. the bottom half of your hair section.
The Shower Filter

While this technically isn’t a part of the category of hair tools, this is probably my top pick from this entire list. If I could, I would give every single bridal client one of these filters as a gift. This shower filter has made such a difference with my hair. Before I installed it, my hair and skin felt so dry and just weird after a shower. Now I don’t feel to need to dunk myself in a vat of Aquafor after every shower.
High-quality hair tools are the secret to great looking hair. When shopping for new hair tools, make sure that they always have a temperature control. Have you tried anything from this list? Did I forget anything? Comment below your favorite hair tools. π
After writing this, I’m tempted to go get extras for my kit…..and shower filter refills.
